Top Guerschon Yabusele News

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Won't play Thursday

Yabusele (foot) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Lakers, K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network reports.

Yabusele was downgraded to out earlier in the day, and he's now officially been listed out with foot soreness. Nick Richards and Lachlan Olbrich should have a chance for more minutes in Yabusele's place.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Questionable for Thursday

Yabusele is questionable for Thursday's game against the Lakers due to left foot soreness.

If Yabusele can't play Thursday, Nick Richards would have a chance to start, and there would be more minutes available for Lachlan Olbrich and Leonard Miller. Check back for another update on Yabusele closer to Thursday's tip.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Logs season high in minutes

Yabusele closed with 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one block over 37 minutes during Thursday's 105-103 win over the Suns.

Yabusele managed to score 16 points, but it took him 15 attempts from the field to do so. He was also less productive on the glass after recording a double-double in his previous matchup Tuesday against OKC. While this was far from an efficient night, Yabusele continues to see significant usage while the Bulls navigate without Jalen Smith (calf) and Patrick Williams (quadriceps).

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Double-double in loss to OKC

Yabusele closed Tuesday's 116-108 loss to the Thunder with 18 points (7-14 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes.

Making his sixth straight start, Yabusele delivered his third double-double of the season, tying his career high. The journeyman big is plugging a hole in the Chicago frontcourt right now, and over his last 11 games (nine starts), he's averaging 11.0 points, 6.5 boards, 2.3 assists, 2.3 threes and 0.9 steals in 25.2 minutes. Yabusele's role and usage are likely to take a hit once Jalen Smith (calf) is cleared to return to the lineup, however.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Plays well in win

Yabusele racked up 12 points (3-8 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in 23 minutes during Sunday's 120-97 victory over Milwaukee.

Yabusele continues to thrive for the shorthanded Bulls and has emerged as a solid fantasy pickup. Over his last five games, he's averaging 10.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 25.0 minutes per contest.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Double-double in Sunday's loss

Yabusele finished with 11 points (4-8 FG, 3-6 3Pt), 13 rebounds and one assist in 30 minutes during Sunday's 105-99 loss to New York.

The double-double was his second of the season, with the other coming Feb. 5. Yabusele has seen a significant role in the frontcourt since being acquired from the Knicks as he helps fill the void left by the Nikola Vucevic trade. Over seven games (five starts) since the deadline, Yabusele is averaging 10.6 points, 6.3 boards, 2.3 assists and 2.3 threes in 25.3 minutes. Jalen Smith also continues to deal with a calf issue, opening up even more playing time for Yabusele.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Starting Saturday

Yabusele will start Saturday's game against the Pistons.

The big man will get the starting nod in place of Anfernee Simons on Saturday. As a starter for the Bulls (three outings), Yabusele has averaged 9.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per tilt.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Will play Saturday

Yabusele (calf) is available for Saturday's game against the Pistons.

As expected, Yabusele will suit up after initially being listed as probable due to a left calf contusion. Over five outings (three starts) with Chicago, the big man has averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per contest.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Nursing minor calf injury

Yabusele is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the Pistons due to a left calf contusion.

Yabusele may have tweaked his calf during the Bulls' 110-101 loss to the Raptors on Thursday, when he logged eight points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and one assist over 17 minutes, though the veteran big man is on track to play in Saturday's contest. Since being acquired by the Bulls from the Knicks in early February, Yabusele is averaging 10.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 2.2 threes and 0.8 steals over 24.8 minutes per game.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Won't start vs. Toronto

Yabusele won't start against the Raptors on Thursday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports.

With Jalen Smith (calf) back in the lineup following a three-game absence, Yabusele will slide to the second unit. Over four outings (three starts) with the Bulls, the 30-year-old big man has averaged 10.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 26.5 minutes per contest.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Impressive stretch continues

Yabusele logged 13 points (5-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 124-105 loss to the Celtics.

Although Yabusele has impressed during his brief time in Chicago following the departure of Nikola Vucevic, it'll be interesting to see what kind of role he plays once Jalen Smith (calf) gets back on the court. Yabusele has averaged 10.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers in 26.8 minutes per contest in his last four games, connecting on 41.7 percent of his three-point shots.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Starting Saturday

Yabusele is part of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Denver.

Yabusele will start in his second game with the Bulls, stepping in for the injured Jalen Smith (calf). Yabusele had a stellar Chicago debut, posting 15 points and 11 rebounds across 33 minutes. Even with Nick Richards (recently traded) and Leonard Miller (recently traded) available to make their Bulls debuts, expect Yabusele to see plenty of run Saturday night.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Double-doubles in Chicago debut

Yabusele registered 14 points (6-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals over 33 minutes during the Bulls' 123-107 loss to the Raptors on Thursday.

Yabusele was dealt by the Knicks to the Bulls on Wednesday, and the veteran from France was given the green light to make his Chicago debut Thursday. He averaged just 8.9 minutes per game off the bench with New York, but he got an expanded opportunity against Toronto, logging his first double-double of the season and first since Jan. 24, 2025 against the Cavaliers, when he was a member of the 76ers. Yabusele's minutes off the bench were a promising sign, though what his role will look like long-term remains to be seen.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Available to play

Yabusele (trade) will be available to play Thursday in Toronto, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Yabusele will be available to make his Bulls debut Thursday evening, and he could get minutes right away with Jalen Smith and Lachlan Olbrich being the only other available bigs on the roster for Thursday's game. Yabusele could be worth a dart throw in daily fantasy leagues.

  • Bulls' Guerschon Yabusele: Dealt to Chicago

The Bulls acquired Yabusele from the Knicks on Wednesday in exchange for forward Dalen Terry, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

Yabusele inked a one-year, $5.5 million deal with New York over the offseason, but he'll head to Chicago midway through the contract. According to K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network, Yabusele's deal initially included a $5.78 million player option for 2026-27, but he worked with the Knicks to remove the option from his contract to better facilitate a trade ahead of the deadline. The 30-year-old had been an inconsistent member of the New York rotation, appearing in 41 games while averaging 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds across 8.9 minutes. He'll have a chance to earn a larger role off the bench on a Bulls team that has limited options in the frontcourt, though more trades could be coming ahead of Thursday's deadline that may bring in more competition. For the moment, Yabusele could slot in as the No. 2 center behind Jalen Smith, at least until Zach Collins (toe) returns.

  • Knicks' Guerschon Yabusele: Fails to score again Friday

Yabusele provided two rebounds across four minutes during Friday's 127-97 victory over Portland.

Yabusele failed to score for the sixth time in the past eight games, continuing to play as arguably the fourth-string center for the Knicks. After somewhat of a breakout campaign playing for the 76ers last season, Yabusele has simply been unable to carve out a consistent role in New York. In 41 games, he has averaged just 2.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.9 minutes per contest.
