  • Omer Yurtseven: Agrees to deal with Panathinaikos

Yurtseven agreed to a deal with Panathinaikos on Monday, Eurohoops reports. The deal isn't finalized yet, but the 6-foot-11 big man is expected to return to Europe to finish his career. After spending three years with Fenerbache to start his basketball career, Yurtseven went to the United States for college in 2016. He spent four years at NC State before transferring to Georgetown. He wasn't selected in the 2020 NBA Draft but received a G League opportunity and worked his way into the Heat's rotation in 2021, averaging 5.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in 12.6 minutes across 56 appearances (12 starts). After making only nine appearances for Miami in 2022, Yurtseven joined the Jazz in 2023 and played 48 games (12 starts), averaging 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.4 minutes.

  • Omer Yurtseven: Parts ways with Utah

The Jazz will waive Yurtseven on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Yurtseven was scheduled to earn $2.66 million in 2024-25, but since that portion of the two-year deal he signed in July 2023 was non-guaranteed, the Jazz will be free of any financial obligation by waiving him. The 6-foot-11 center made 48 appearances for Utah in 2023-24, averaging 4.6 points and 4.3 rebounds in 11.4 minutes. He'll look to find work elsewhere as a second- or third-string center.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Productive in season finale Sunday

Yurtseven supplied 11 points (5-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 18 rebounds and two assists over 30 minutes during Sunday's 123-116 loss to the Warriors. Yurtseven spent most of the season as the third-string center behind John Collins (back) and Walker Kessler (nose), but since both were ruled out for the season finale, Yurtseven stepped into a starting role and looked quite good, posting a double-double and making his presence felt on the glass. Yurtseven started Utah's final six games of the campaign, scoring in double digits four times and posting two double-doubles in that span.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Double-double against Nuggets

Yurtseven ended with 20 points (9-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 111-95 loss to Denver. Making his third straight start in the absence of John Collins (back) and Walker Kessler (nose), Yurtseven delivered his first double-double of the season. The 25-year-old center has averaged 13.3 points, 8.3 boards, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals during his brief starting stint, and with Utah headed back to the draft lottery, Yurtseven could see a significant role over the final three regular-season games.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Posts 12 points in starting role

Yurtseven registered 12 points (6-10 FG), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal over 21 minutes during Friday's 131-102 loss to the Clippers. Yurtseven garnered the start with John Collins (back) and Walker Kessler (nose) on the sidelines. Though Yurtseven has had a very inconsistent role throughout the campaign, he's proven to be an effective rebounder when called upon. Across his seven starts, Yurtseven is averaging 6.9 points, 8.4 boards, 1.1 assists and 0.9 blocks over 21.0 minutes per contest.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Starting against Clippers

Yurtseven will start against the Clippers on Friday, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports. John Collins (back) and Walker Kessler (nose) are both sidelined, so Yurtseven could have a sizable role Friday night. In six starts this season, Yurtseven averaged 6.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocks.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Gets green light

Yurtseven (ankle) is available for Monday's game against the Mavericks. Yurtseven will return to action Monday after missing Saturday's loss to the Rockets due to a right ankle sprain. However, Utah is at full strength, save for Kris Dunn (suspension), so it's unclear how big of a role Yurtseven will have off the bench.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Not playing Saturday

Yurtseven (ankle) is out for Saturday's game against the Rockets, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Yurtseven logged 21 minutes in the 113-97 loss to the Mavericks on Thursday, but he won't be available Saturday while he tends to a right ankle sprain. With John Collins (face) set to return from a one-game absence Saturday, he and Walker Kessler will likely split nearly all the minutes at center, so Yurtseven presumably would have been outside of the rotation even if he were available.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Rare appearance in victory

Yurtseven racked up three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and one rebound in three minutes during Sunday's 128-109 win over the Spurs. Yurtseven played three minutes in garbage time, entering the rotation for just the fourth time in the past 10 games. Despite his fantasy-friendly game, there simply aren't enough minutes to go around for Yurtseven to have any sustainable value. If the Jazz decide to lean into their second and third units down the stretch, he could pop up on radars as a per-minute streaming consideration.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Gets two minutes in first game back

Yurtseven (illness) played two minutes in Tuesday's 130-118 win over the Spurs, missing his only field-goal attempt while recording no other statistics. Though Yurtseven received minutes in his return from a four-game absence due to an illness, he wasn't included in the rotation. Yurtseven and three other deep reserves (Brice Sensabaugh, Luka Samanic and Taylor Hendricks) all played the final 2:08 of the contest when Utah had essentially already secured the win. With Utah at full strength in the frontcourt, Yurtseven looks as though he'll rank no higher than third in the pecking order at center behind Walker Kessler and Kelly Olynyk.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Good to go

Yurtseven (illness) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Saturday's matchup in Toronto. Yurtseven missed four straight games due to an illness but will return to action versus the Raptors. However, with Utah's frontcourt at full strength, it's unclear what type of role Yurtseven will play. He started six straight games from Nov. 25 through Dec. 6, averaging 6.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 21.0 minutes per game, but across 12 appearances off the bench, Yurtseven has mustered just 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 8.5 minutes per game.

Yurtseven (illness) will not play in Saturday's game against the Kings, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Upgraded to questionable

Yurtseven (illness) is now listed as questionable for Saturday's game versus Sacramento, Eric Walden of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Yurtseven was initially ruled out with a non-COVID illness but now has a chance to suit up against the Kings. The 25-year-old big man is averaging 2.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 12.3 minutes across his last three appearances.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Out sick

Yurtseven will not play in Saturday's game in Sacramento due to an illness. Yurtseven was not on Utah's initial injury report, so it appears his illness is relatively new. His absence is not expected to impact the team's rotation, but they will be a little thinner on frontcourt depth options. The big man's next opportunity to play will come Monday versus the Nets.

Yurtseven will come off the bench Friday against the Clippers, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports. Walker Kessler is back in the starting lineup after playing with the second unit in his last six appearances. Yurtseven's role is likely to trend down with the Jazz getting healthier. Kelly Olynyk (back) is back Friday, and Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) is getting closer to a return.

  • Jazz's Omer Yurtseven: Snags 15 rebounds in OT win

Yurtseven racked up nine points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 15 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal across 27 minutes during Saturday's 118-113 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers. Yurtseven logged his fifth consecutive start Saturday, boosting his fantasy value while the Jazz continue to bring Walker Kessler off the bench. Although Kessler is healthy and has logged significant time off the bench, he has yet to win back his slot in the starting lineup after his seven-game absence. Yurtseven has averaged only 5.6 points per game since taking over, but sublime rebound totals have kept him relevant.
