David Nwaba: Pistons waive him
The Pistons waived Nwaba on Saturday, according to the NBA Transactions Log page.
Nwaba was under contract with the Pistons for less than 24 hours, as he was waived shortly after his signature, and this move means he'll likely spend the 2023-24 season playing for Detroit's G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. Nwaba spent last season in the G League but has several years of NBA experience under his belt, registering stints with the Lakers, Bulls, Cavaliers, Nets and Rockets in the past.

Thunder's David Nwaba: Heading to Oklahoma City
Nwaba -- along with Sterling Brown, Trey Burke and Marquese Chriss -- was traded from the Rockets to the Thunder on Thursday in exchange for Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome, Maurice Harkless, Theo Maledon and a 2025 second-round pick, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
In a last-minute trade before the preseason starts, Nwaba is apparently heading to Oklahoma City, where he'll try to earn a roster spot on a young squad. The forward appeared in 46 games last year with Houston and averaged 5.1 points and 3.3 rebounds and shot 48.3 percent overall from the field.

Rockets' David Nwaba: Pops for 15 points in loss
Nwaba registered 15 points (5-6 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 3-6 FT), one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal over 14 minutes during Sunday's 130-105 loss to the Pelicans.
Nwaba scored a season-high 15 points in the loss, highlighting just what a struggle it has been for him this season. In fact, he has scored in double-digits just six times, struggling to carve out a regular spot in the rotation. While the Rockets are likely to change up their rotation moving forward, it is unlikely they view Nwaba as a crucial piece of their future. Based on that fact, he is not a name to be monitoring outside of the deepest formats.

Rockets' David Nwaba: Exits starting five
Nwaba will come off the bench Monday against Philadelphia, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
Nwaba started the previous four contests amid some injuries and COVID-19 absences, but the Rockets will shake things up and go with Jae'Sean Tate and Garrison Mathews on the wing Monday, while Jalen Green and Eric Gordon still start in the backcourt. Nwaba is capable of occasionally popping for some defensive production but overall he's not much of a fantasy consideration.

Rockets' David Nwaba: In starting five Monday
Nwaba will start Monday's game against the Hornets, Adam Spolane of Sports Radio 610 in Houston reports.
With several players in the COVID protocols and both Jalen Green (rest) and Kevin Porter (hamstring) unavailable, the Rockets will go with a smaller lineup and turn to Nwaba at power forward alongside Christian Wood. Nwaba should be set for a jump in minutes, but there's not a ton of fantasy upside here.

Rockets' David Nwaba: Blocks two shots in 15 minutes
Nwaba closed with nine points (3-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 15 minutes during Wednesday's 126-106 loss to Milwaukee.
Nwaba saw some additional playing time with the game result well and truly sealed by the final quarter. Despite a proven ability to at least flirt with 12-team value, Nwaba's role is simply not there at this point. Add to that the fact that he is not a part of their long-term plans, and you have a player who is unlikely to touch the fantasy landscape this season.
