Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Prepping for first full year with Harden
Mitchell will be sharing the backcourt with James Harden again this season after the latter re-signed with Cleveland.
Harden may soak up more usage than Mitchell's previous backcourt partner, Darius Garland, but Mitchell didn't see a notable drop-off in fantasy value with Harden in the fray following last year's trade deadline. Mitchell averaged 26.0 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game in 22 regular-season appearances with Harden in 2025-26, keeping the former squarely in conversations as an elite fantasy asset.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Agrees to four-year max extension
Mitchell agreed to a four-year, $273 million max contract extension with the Cavaliers on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
The deal includes a player option for 2030-31 and a full trade kicker. Along with trade-deadline acquisition James Harden, Mitchell led the Cavaliers to the Eastern Conference Finals last season before fizzling out against the Knicks, averaging 26.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals across 18 postseason contests. He could've waited until next summer to sign an even larger extension, but the veteran opted to commit early to a long-term deal, proving his loyalty to Cleveland.

Cavaliers' Donovan Mitchell: Valiant effort in Game 4 loss
Mitchell produced 31 points (9-18 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 8-10 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 32 minutes in Monday's 130-93 loss to the Knicks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Mitchell put together his best game of the series, which included a postseason-high five treys to lead the Cavs in scoring. However, it wasn't nearly enough to fend off the Knicks, who will advance to the NBA Finals following a four-game sweep. Mitchell averaged 27.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.5 steals in the Eastern Conference Finals.
