Clingan totaled 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt), seven rebounds, three assists and one block over 31 minutes during Wednesday's 103-102 win over the Rockets.
Although the Rockets were vulnerable under the basket without Alperen Sengun's (ankle) services, Clingan was unable to take advantage. Fortunately for the Trail Blazers, Deni Avdija was able to pick up most of the slack with a career-high performance, and the team prevailed despite less potency from their young center. Although Jusuf Nurkic outscored Clingan in the paint, Clingan won the rebound battle and logged his third-best total in the category while increasing his double-double streak to four games. Clingan is proving to be well worth his first-round selection in the 2024 Draft, and his steady play makes him one of the most consistent big men in the Western Conference with a 33-game average of 11.2 points and 10.8 rebounds.

Clingan finished with 19 points (6-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-13 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks over 35 minutes during Thursday's 134-133 overtime win over the Kings.
Clingan was impressive overall against Sacramento. The Connecticut product is known for hitting the glass and protecting the rim, which he did Thursday to the tune of eight boards and two blocks. He also sank a pair of three-pointers, which is huge for Portland's offense. If Clingan can draw rim protectors to the arc, it will open more space for his teammates to drive.

Portland plugged Clingan back into the starting five after he had missed the previous three contests due to a left lower leg contusion, but he wasn't asked to handle heavy minutes while interim head coach Tiago Splitter occasionally turned to either Sidy Cissoko or Jerami Grant to serve as small-ball centers when Clingan and top backup Robert Williams were off the court. Clingan was still able to make an impact in the defensive categories and on the glass during his time on the floor, but he continued to remain relatively uninvolved on offense. He's maintaining a modest 15 percent usage rate for the season and has reached double figures in scoring in just eight of his 22 appearances.
