  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Plays in garbage time Friday

Hansen played the final 48.9 seconds of Friday's 124-114 win over the Jazz, finishing with no statistics during his time on the court. Recalled from the G League's Rip City Remix prior to Friday's contest, Hansen was unable to crack the Portland rotation while the game was competitive. Even though the Trail Blazers were without their top backup center in Robert Williams (knee) on Friday, interim head coach Tiago Splitter opted to run out small-ball lineups when starting center Donovan Clingan was off the court. Hansen looks like he'll continue to receive limited run at the NBA level for the rest of the season while he's yet to gain full trust of the coaching staff.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Back to G League

The Trail Blazers assigned Hansen to the G League's Rip City Remix on Tuesday. As such, Hansen won't be available for Tuesday's game against the Hornets. The rookie first-rounder has bounced back and forth between the G League and NBA this season, but he has not played double-digit minutes for Portland since Jan. 27 against Washington. In his last G League outing against the Valley Suns on Saturday, Hansen finished with 15 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal over 23 minutes.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Recalled from G League

Portland recalled Hansen from the G League's Rip City Remix on Saturday. Hansen appeared in Rip City's wins over the Valley Suns on Friday and Saturday, totaling 36 points and 18 rebounds in those two outings. He hasn't logged double-digit minutes for the parent club since Jan. 27, a trend that is likely to continue Sunday versus the Pacers.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Available Sunday

Hansen (back) is available for Sunday's game against the Hawks. The rookie first-rounder will shed his questionable tag due to mid-back soreness and could see increased playing time Sunday due to Robert Williams (knee) being sidelined. Hansen appeared in eight outings in February, during which he averaged 1.8 points in 4.0 minutes per tilt.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Dealing with back injury

Hansen is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Bulls due to mid-back soreness. Hansen may have picked up the injury during his most recent appearance in the G League with the Rip City Remix on Sunday, when he posted 11 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 29 minutes in a 118-113 loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors. Robert Williams (foot) is also listed as questionable, so if both Williams and Hansen aren't available Thursday, Portland could turn to Sidy Cissoko or Jerami Grant to play center when starter Donovan Clingan is off the court.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Team-high 22 points in G League

Hansen collected 22 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 123-99 G League win over the Oklahoma City Blue. Hansen led the Rip City Remix in points Wednesday to go with a full stat line. The rookie first-rounder is averaging 17.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals per game over six G League appearances in 2025-26.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Muted role continues

Hansen provided two points (0-1 FG, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 11 minutes during Saturday's 115-110 win over the Spurs. Hansen played at least 10 minutes for the fourth time in the past five games, although his production has not followed suit. During that time, the rookie has averaged just 1.6 points and 2.0 rebounds, highlighting just how far he has to go before he becomes a viable NBA center.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Recalled to NBA

The Trail Blazers recalled Hansen from the G League's Rip City Remix on Monday. Hansen joined the Remix for Monday's 116-110 win over the Stockton Kings, recording 18 points (8-11 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes. He hasn't seen the floor in each of Portland's last two games and isn't likely to play meaningful minutes unless there are injuries to multiple centers.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Iffy for Thursday

Hansen is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against New Orleans due to a face contusion. Hansen made his first career start Sunday due to the absences of Donovan Clingan (leg) and Robert Williams (illness). He seemingly picked up what appears to be a minor face injury during the outing. Clingan remains out and Williams is questionable due to the same issues, which means Hansen could be in line for another significant workload if available.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Fails to impress in spot start

Hansen closed with four points (2-5 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists across 19 minutes during Sunday's 119-96 loss to Memphis. Donovan Clingan (leg) and Robert Williams (illness) were both unavailable Sunday, which allowed Hansen to claim his first career start. However, the rookie first-rounder didn't make a big impact in the box score, and he also got into foul trouble with five of them. Portland is likely to evaluate Clingan and Williams on a day-to-day basis, meaning Hansen's stay in the first unit could be short-lived.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Starting Sunday

Hansen is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game in Memphis. Hansen will draw the first start of his career with both Donovan Clingan (leg) and Robert Williams (illness) unavailable, so at the very least, he should be working with minutes in the mid-20s Sunday evening. Joining him in the first unit will be Sidy Cissoko, Deni Avdija, Jerami Grant and Toumani Camara.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Notches eight points

Hansen notched eight points (3-11 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block across 18 minutes during Sunday's 122-95 loss to the Thunder. With Robert Williams sitting out for rest, Hansen saw a handful of minutes as the backup center Sunday. He wasn't shy and attempted six triples, but he didn't find much success. Until the rookie can log minutes consistently, he will remain mostly a stash option in dynasty formats.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Scores nine points in return

Hansen notched nine points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one block over 13 minutes during Tuesday's 127-110 loss to the Suns. Hansen rejoined the home club after a stint with the Rip City Remix, a trend that has already happened a few times this season. Hansen has become a crowd favorite, drawing cheers whenever he takes the floor. Donovan Clingan's job is safe, but once Hansen becomes a full-time player, he'll serve as an excellent backup.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Recalled Sunday

The Trail Blazers recalled Hansen from the G League's Rip City Remix on Sunday. Hansen joined Rip City for practice this weekend, though he'll return to the parent club ahead of Monday's game against the Lakers. The rookie big man has averaged 1.8 points in 5.8 minutes per game across five regular-season appearances so far this season.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Not very involved

Hansen notched two points (0-1 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and one rebound over four minutes during Sunday's 114-107 loss to the Clippers. Hansen's early-season role has left a lot to be desired, as Donovan Clingan is getting the bulk of the center minutes and the Trail Blazers are leaning on smaller lineups. Through three regular-season games, the intriguing rookie is averaging 5.7 minutes per contest.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Logs 16 points from bench

Hansen compiled 16 points (5-8 FG, 4-4 FT, 2-3 3Pt), four rebounds, three blocked shots and an assist across 17 minutes during Friday's 124-123 preseason win over the Kings. Donovan Clingan has a firm role on the starting job at center for the Trailblazers, but Portland's 2025 first-round pick seems poised to serve as his backup. Although Duop Reath and Robert Williams are on the roster, the Chinese product's 7-1 frame and overseas experience have impressed throughout camp, giving him a slight edge over the previously tenured backups.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Done for Summer League

Hansen (rest) won't play for the rest of the Las Vegas Summer League, Danny Marang of 1080 The Fan Portland reports. Hansen turned a lot of heads during Summer League, as he might be a player who can contribute right away for his team once the 2025-26 campaign gets underway. The No. 16 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft finished with a strong outing July 16 against the Pelicans, putting up 15 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks.

  • Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Flashes potential in full stat line

Hansen posted 15 points (6-13 FG, 3-6 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks in 27 minutes during Tuesday's 93-87 Summer League win over the Pelicans. Hansen provided a full stat line Tuesday, tying for the team lead in swats in the process. While the rookie first-rounder is a fairly raw talent, his pathway to playing time as a reserve behind starter Donovan Clingan was cleared up quite a bit by the departure of Deandre Ayton this offseason. Even so, Hansen will still need to leapfrog Robert Williams (knee) and Duop Reath for Portland's backup center role in 2025-26.
