  • Nene Hilario: Cut loose by Atlanta

The Hawks waived Nene (hip) on Thursday.

With the massive four-team, 12-player deal that was agreed upon earlier in the week officially approved by the NBA, the Hawks quickly parted ways with Nene, who was likely only included in the deal that sent Clint Capela (heel) to Atlanta for salary-matching purposes. Nene has been sidelined all season after a chronic left adductor injury bothered him prior to the Rockets opening training camp. The 37-year-old never resumed any on-court work with the Rockets prior to being dealt, so it's looking rather unlikely that he'll be ready to play at any point this season as he heads to the free-agent pool. Given his advanced age and lengthy injury history, Nene's 18-year NBA career could be over.

  • Hawks' Nene Hilario: Heading to Atlanta

Hilario is being trading to the Hawks as part of a four-team deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reports.

Hilario is part of a massive deal that will send fellow teammate Clint Capela to Atlanta as well. The 37-year-old did not take the court once for Houston this season and it remains to be seen if a new home will spark a changed role for the veteran.

  • Rockets' Nene Hilario: Remains away from team

Nene (hip) is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.

The 37-year-old has been away from the team all season after he aggravated a chronic hip adductor injury shortly before the Rockets convened for training camp. With Houston offering few updates on Nene's rehab thus far, he's looking unlikely to make his 2019-20 debut until after the All-Star break.

Hilario (hip) remains away from the Rockets, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.

  • Rockets' Nene Hilario: Sidelined for season opener

Hilario (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday's season opener against the Bucks, Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic reports.

Hilario has been away from the team since aggravating a chronic adductor injury shortly before training camp, so it's probably safe to rule him out for at least the first couple weeks of the regular season. A more concrete target date for Hilario's season debut should emerge once he's back practicing again, but the 37-year-old probably won't be in store for a consistent spot in the Houston rotation when he's ultimately cleared to play.

  • Rockets' Nene Hilario: Will miss training camp

Nene re-injured his chronic adductor issue and won't be able to take part in the Rockets' training camp, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.

The 37-year-old isn't expected to have a large role this coming season and this preseason injury seems like it could roll into the regular season. If that happens, Houston will likely look to players like Isaiah Hartenstein and Gary Clark for end-of-the bench minutes at center.

  • Nene Hilario: Plans to re-sign with Rockets

Nene is expected to re-sign with the Rockets, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.

Nene has been with the Rockets over the past three seasons, and he'll return for his age 36 campaign. That said, it's highly unlikely he'll be an every night player. He's played 94 combined games over the past two seasons, and Houston also brought in Tyson Chandler over the summer.

  • Rockets' Nene Hilario: Testing free agency

Hilario will decline his $3.8 million player option and become a free agent, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Hilario has spent the past three seasons as a reserve center for the Rockets, though his role has declined due to age. He appeared in just 42 games last season, seeing 13.0 minutes. Still, he's proven to be a quality veteran presence who can be productive when he's out on the court.
