Clippers' Bones Hyland: Nabs three steals in win Monday
Hyland registered eight points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt), three assists and three steals over 12 minutes during Monday's 144-107 victory over Utah.
The 24-year-old guard was efficient during his limited run in the blowout win, tying Kevin Porter for the team-high mark in steals. Hyland has appeared in five consecutive outings with Terance Mann (finger) sidelined, during which he has averaged 12.8 points, 2.4 assists, 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 18.2 minutes per contest.

Clippers' Bones Hyland: Leads charge for Clippers again
Hyland produced 22 points (7-13 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, four assists and one steal across 28 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 117-106 loss to the Rockets.
The fourth-year guard led the Clippers in scoring for the second straight game, taking full advantage of the absences to Terance Mann (finger) and James Harden (groin). Mann isn't expected back until after Christmas, and while Harden's injury doesn't seem serious, it's unclear when he might get back on the court, so the door could be open for Hyland to see a big workload over the next week or two. He hadn't seen more than 12 minutes of court time in a game before Mann's injury, but over the last two contests, Hyland has averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 threes, 3.5 boards and 3.0 assists in 25.5 minutes as a significant part of the second unit.

Clippers' Bones Hyland: Leads Clippers in scoring
Hyland produced 18 points (5-11 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes during Wednesday's 108-80 loss to Minnesota.
Hyland stepped up off the bench and emerged as perhaps the lone reliable offensive weapon for the Clippers in a game during which the team mustered only 80 total points. Don't expect Hyland to hover around the 15-point mark on a regular basis, though. He's scored in double digits in just two of his nine appearances off the bench in 2024-25.

Hyland popped for 11 points in seven minutes as the Clippers were soundly beaten by an impressive Dallas outfit. Now trailing 3-2 in the series, Los Angeles will need to turn things around in a hurry should they hope to extend it to a seventh game.

Hyland (not injury related) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rockets, Justin Russo of the 'Clip & Roll' podcast reports.
Hyland has totaled 57 points, 15 assists and six steals over his last two appearances, including one start, and he was in line for another elevated role Sunday, as most of the Clippers' regulars are resting. However, the youngster has been ruled out an hour before tipoff after not being listed on any of the previous injury reports. It's unclear if he'll have a regular rotational role during the postseason.

Hyland set season high marks in scoring and threes made, surpassing the 20-point mark for the first time of the year. He posted his second-best assist total of the 2023-24 campaign, finishing behind only his season high of 11 assists recorded March 14 against Chicago.

Hyland was inserted into the starting lineup with James Harden (shoulder) sidelined. Hyland made the most of his opportunity as he recorded his first double-double of the season and the third of his career. His 11 assists Thursday tied a career high set in December of 2022, and his 17 points were his most since Nov. 10 against the Mavericks. Law Murray of The Athletic reported after Thursday's game that Harden is uncertain he'll play Friday against the Pelicans, and if that's the case, Hyland figures to reprise his starting role.
