Jazz's Vernon Carey: Let go by Utah
The Jazz waived Carey on Friday, Ben Anderson of KSL News Salt Lake City reports.
Carey signed with Utah on a two-year, non-guaranteed contract in April. However, Carey didn't make any appearances for the team, so his release is unsurprising. The 22-year-old big man will be a free agent heading into the 2023-24 season.

Jazz's Vernon Carey: Joining Jazz
Carey signed a contract with Utah for the rest of the season and the 2023-24 campaign Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Carey spent time with the Wizards to start the season, appearing in 11 games and averaging 2.5 minutes. However, he will join the Jazz for the tail end of the 2022-23 campaign and could see some action with the team sitting most of its rotation players.

Carey is settled as one of Capital City's best players and should remain a productive player for the team every time he suits up at the G League level.

Another game, another instance where Carey shows why he's been the best player on the Go-Go roster by a wide margin. A double-double threat every time he steps on the court, Carey has thrived as a legit two-way threat for Capital City, and his numbers back that up. He's now scored at least 20 points in three of his last four outings.
