Rockets' Tari Eason: Won't play against Chicago
Eason is out for Saturday's game versus the Bulls due to left lower leg injury management.
Eason will miss the second leg of Saturday's back-to-back after starting in Houston's previous five outings. Jabari Smith, Cam Whitmore and Jae'Sean Tate are candidates to receive increased playing time in his absence. Eason's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Philadelphia.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Season-high 30 points in easy win
Eason ended with 30 points (11-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 31 minutes during Friday's 133-96 victory over the Mavericks.
On top of filling the box score, Eason set a new season-high scoring output Friday to lead the Rockets. Eason has averaged 15.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.7 three-pointers in 28.1 minutes through his last nine games. Although the 2022 first-rounder has regularly sat out one leg of Houston's back-to-back sets during the second half of the season, Eason should remain a strong source of defensive stats when available.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Double-doubles in win
Eason ended Wednesday's 111-104 victory over the Suns with 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 26 minutes.
Eason recorded his fifth double-double of the season despite a modest workload of 26 minutes. The Rockets have a back-to-back set coming up Friday against Dallas and Saturday against Chicago, so with how cautious the Rockets have been with him all season, a maintenance day could be on the table.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Hits for 20 in Thursday's start
Eason had 20 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and five steals over 31 minutes during Thursday's 109-97 win over the Pelicans.
Shifting back into the starting lineup for the first time since Feb. 25, Eason delivered at least 20 points for the first time since Feb. 12 while setting a new season high in made three-pointers. The third-year forward also recorded at least five steals in a game for the fourth time this season. Eason still hasn't been cleared to play in back-to-back games as he deals with a lower-leg issue, but he's been productive when he's been in the lineup over the last month. He's scored at least 12 points in six straight appearances, averaging 16.5 points, 6.3 boards, 2.7 assists, 2.3 threes, 2.0 steals and 0.7 blocks in 28.8 minutes a contest while shooting 54.1 percent from the floor and 48.3 percent (14-for-29) from beyond the arc.

Eason will start in Thursday's game against New Orleans, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
Jabari Smith will slide to the bench in favor of Eason, who has come off the bench in each of his last two appearances. Rockets' Tari Eason: Grabs team-high 14 rebounds
Eason provided 16 points (7-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 14 rebounds and four assists across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 115-102 loss to the Pacers.
Eason matched his season-high with 14 rebounds, laying out his first double-double in over a month. The Rockets continue to manage his playing time, limiting him to no more than 27 minutes in three of his past four appearances. He has also failed to play in consecutive games since back on Feb. 6 and 8. He should remain a key piece, albeit one who is somewhat restricted due to his recent injury history, for the Rockets as they push for a playoff berth.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Available to play
Eason (leg) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Pacers.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Sitting out Monday
Eason (lower leg) is out for Monday's game against the Thunder, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
It's routine for the Rockets to hold out Eason for one half of back-to-back sets due to lower left leg injury management. The expectation is that the third-year forward will be good to go Tuesday in Indiana. With Eason sidelined against Oklahoma City, Houston should move Jabari Smith back into the starting lineup.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Iffy for Monday
Eason (lower leg) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Thunder.
The Rockets continue to manage Eason's playing time due to a lower left leg injury. If the 23-year-old suits up Monday, he'll likely sit out of the second leg of the club's back-to-back set against the Pacers on Tuesday. He hasn't played in both halves of a back-to-back set since Nov. 26-27. Over his last five outings (four starts), Eason has averaged 14.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals across 29.2 minutes per contest.

Eason (lower leg) is not on the injury report for Saturday's game against the Kings.

Eason will not play Wednesday against the Spurs due to left lower leg injury management.

Jabari Smith will likely replace Eason as the Rockets' starting power forward Wednesday.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Will start Tuesday
Eason (leg) will be in the starting lineup in Tuesday's game against the Bucks, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.
After sitting out Saturday's game against Utah, Eason will start in his return and supplant Jabari Smith from the first unit. Over five games as a starter this season, Eason has averaged 13.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.6 blocks in 30.5 minutes, giving him enhanced fantasy appeal.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Available to play
Eason (leg) will be available for Tuesday's game against the Bucks.
Eason missed Saturday's game against the Jazz as it was the second leg of a back-to-back set. The Rockets do play the Spurs on Wednesday, so there's a chance Eason could miss the second leg of this back-to-back as well with the Rockets taking a cautious approach with the forward.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Won't play Saturday
Eason has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Jazz due to lower left leg injury management, Ben DuBose of USA Today reports.
As expected, Eason will sit out of the second leg of the Rockets' back-to-back set Saturday after playing 27 minutes during Friday's win over the Timberwolves. Jabari Smith -- who made his return from a hand fracture Friday -- will likely be placed in the starting lineup due to Eason's injury. Eason's next chance to play will be Tuesday against the Bucks.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Remains starter in Smith's return
Eason (lower leg) tallied 12 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes in Friday's 121-115 win over the Timberwolves.
With the Rockets closing out their first-half schedule with a back-to-back set, Eason ended up sitting out the team's final game before the All-Star break on Feb. 13 against the Warriors due to lower leg injury management. As expected, Eason was available for the first game out of the break, and he somewhat surprisingly retained his spot in the starting five over Jabari Smith (hand), who made his return from a 22-game absence. Though Eason still saw solid minutes, Smith ended up seeing more playing time (38 minutes), and it could be a matter of time before he supplants Eason in the starting five. That could happen as soon as Saturday, when Eason will be a candidate to sit again for maintenance while the Rockets take on the Jazz. After Saturday, the Rockets will head into yet another back-to-back set, with games Tuesday versus the Bucks and Wednesday versus the Spurs.

Rockets' Tari Eason: Not listed on injury report
Eason (lower leg) is not on the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the Timberwolves.
Eason didn't play in the Rockets' final game before the All-Star break, a 105-98 loss to the Warriors on Feb. 13 due to lower leg discomfort. However, he's back for this clash and should see a steady dose of minutes regardless of whether he starts or comes off the bench. Eason is averaging 27.7 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances (four starts) with averages of 11.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.4 assists per game over that span.
