Will Bynum: Waived by Hawks
Bynum was waived by the Hawks Friday.
Bynum appeared in all seven preseason games for the Hawks, averaging 4.7 points and 3.1 assists in that stretch. Given that Bynum has veteran experience as a point guard, it's possible that a team with depth issues could look to sign Bynum down the road, but for now, he will be looking for work after the Hawks trimmed their roster down to 16 players.

Hawks' Will Bynum: Starts at point guard Sunday
Bynum will draw the start for Sunday's preseason game against the Magic, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The Hawks are slated to be without Dennis Schroder (rest), Jarrett Jack (knee) and Malcolm Dalaney in the backcourt, which means Bynum will be the starter at point guard and should see a ton of minutes. Bynum has played over 20 minutes in just one preseason game thus far, but should get a shot Sunday to make a case for additional playing time. Once the regular season arrives, Bynum is expected to operate as a depth option in the backcourt and will struggle to receive enough minutes most nights to remain fantasy relevant.

Hawks' Will Bynum: Gets camp deal from Atlanta
Bynum signed a non-guaranteed contract Friday with the Hawks, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Though he's never played for the Hawks, Bynum is likely revered by Atlanta fans for his excellent college career at Georgia Tech, who he held lead to the national championship game during his junior season in 2003-04. Since going undrafted in 2005, Bynum has appeared in 360 career NBA games over parts of eight seasons with the Warriors, Pistons and Wizards, averaging 8.1 points in 18.4 minutes per game. He spent last season in the Chinese Basketball Association with the Guangdong Southern Tigers after failing to generate much NBA interest. Despite his local ties, Bynum doesn't have a great shot at landing a roster spot with the Hawks, as he'll open training camp fourth on the depth chart at point guard behind Dennis Schroder, Jarrett Jack and Malcolm Delaney.
