1. Second chance -- To Mike Tomlin, they’re in it together -- the Steelers and OT Mike Adams, who they drafted out of Ohio State despite his positive drug test at the combine. “We’ll just live day by day,” Tomlin said. “Obviously, he’s a very talented young man. Young people make mistakes. We’re satisfied enough that we’re able to move forward at this juncture.” 2. Left is right -- OL coach Sean Kugler seemed to prefer the idea of keeping Adams at left OT and not having to move right OT Marcus Gilbert, who started for an injured Willie Colon last season. If he is to play the blind side, the 6-7, 323-pound Adams will have to get used to speedy NFL right DEs. 3. Good in meetings -- Adams got to Pittsburgh by asking for a meeting after the positive drug test. “Never in my 28 years have I had a player solicit a face-to-face meeting to [exclusively] explain the situation,” GM Kevin Colbert said. “We said OK, come on in, we have nothing to lose.”
