TE Jake Ballard (ACL) has been claimed by the Patriots, his agent Blake Baratz wrote on Twitter. Ballard was waived because of a failed physical by the Giants on Monday and told CBSSports.com in an email that he expected to clear waivers and re-join the Giants before being placed on IR. He injured his knee in the Super Bowl and isn't expected to play until 2013.
