The good: RB LaMichael James ran for more than 1,500 yards in each of his three seasons at Oregon and can help the team in the return game. The bad: The team already has four RBs who are expected to carry the ball, including Kendall Hunter, who possesses a similar skillset. The bottom line: RB Anthony Dixon’s tenure with the team appears in jeopardy -- unless he’s willing to stay purely as a special teams player. The 49ers signed another power back in Brandon Jacobs and Dixon doesn’t appear to be in line for any carries with James in the fold now, too.
