The good: Northwestern WR Jeremy Ebert was productive as a tough and smart slot receiver in a pass-heavy spread offense. The bad: He has short arms and his quickness is only marginal for a slot receiver in the NFL. The bottom line: The Patriots' slot receivers (Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and Anthony Gonzalez) are entering the final year of their contracts. Ebert could develop on the practice squad.
