Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler returned twice from a rib injury Monday night to play against the Detroit Lions in a game the Bears led 13-0 early in the third quarter.
Cutler went out after a sack by Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh at the Bears 18-yard line with 1:18 left in the first half, but returned after backup Jason Campbell scrambled on one play. The Bears punted and Cutler left the game for the locker room.
When the second half started, Campbell warmed up, but Cutler came out through the tunnel late and started the second half. His first drive went nowhere but after a muffed punt was recovered by the Bears’ Zack Bowman , Cutler quarterbacked the team on a drive to a 21-yard Robbie Gould field goal.
Cutler completed 9 of 17 for 73 yards in the first half and an 8-yard TD to WR Brandon Marshall as the Bears went into the locker room leading 10-0.
