The Bears are coping with yet more injuries after Sunday's loss to Seattle.
RG Gabe Carimi practiced on a limited basis with a hamstring injury, and RB Michael Bush has rib injuries and didn't practice.
Carimi had his first start at right guard last week in place of Chris Spencer, who was out with a knee injury. Although Spencer was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, offensive coordinator Mike Tice expects Carimi will start again.
"Right now we don’t anticipate any changes up front," he said. "We felt like the line played solid football, not necessarily great football but solid football.
"Anytime with the line you want to have the same guys in there, so there’s no sense at this point of the week making any drastic changes and we're just trying to keep building on some of the things we’ve done the last two weeks."
CB Tim Jennings did not practice due to a shoulder injury and it's looking unlikely he'll be available. DT Stephen Paea (foot) sat out, as well, but is expected to practice Thursday.
Growing receiver ranks: WRs Alshon Jeffery and Devin Hester practiced on a limited basis Wednesday after they missed last week's game. Hester had a concussion and Jeffery had arthroscopic knee surgery.
Jeffery has 16 catches but has been available only six games due to injuries.
“We’re excited to have him back, but I want to temper that by we haven’t had him for any length of time this year to get him really in a groove," Tice said. "Certainly, he’s shown in the games he has played that he can be a talent for us and certainly complement Brandon (Marshall), so that really helps us because when they try to key on Brandon we really have two go-to guys on the field at the same time."
Indoor voices: Coach Lovie Smith had the team practice indoors for the first time this season in anticipation of Sunday's game at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. He doubts because the game is indoors or that they faced each other two weeks ago will favor either team.
"The Vikings are faster on their turf, and we are too," Smith said. "It's kind of as simple as that. We're set up to play on this surface, also."
Back home: LB Dom DeCicco returned Tuesday after being cut early in the season. He had workouts with the Patriots, Lions, and Raiders but found no takers.
He said he hoped to be back in Chicago because of his familiarity.
"That was the one thing, that was one of the big reasons I wanted to come here because I knew everyone, I was comfortable here and I knew the system," he said.
