Bears vs. Giants Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Bears vs. Giants football game
The Chicago Bears will take on the New York Giants at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Soldier Field. Chicago should still be riding high after a victory, while New York will be looking to right the ship.
The Bears decided to play defense against itself last week, but the team still came out ahead despite their 87 penalty yards. They slipped by the Seattle Seahawks 25-24. No one had a standout game offensively for Chicago, but they got scores from TE Jimmy Graham, RB David Montgomery, and RB Khalil Herbert. Chicago's win came on a 15-yard TD pass from QB Nick Foles to Graham with only 1:07 remaining in the fourth quarter followed up by a gutsy two-point conversion.
Meanwhile, it was all tied up 3-3 at halftime, but New York was not quite the Philadelphia Eagles' equal in the second half when they met last week. The Giants got maybe a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Eagles an easy 34-10 victory. This matchup was a close 3-3 at the break, but unfortunately for New York it sure didn't stay that way. One thing holding New York back was the mediocre play of RB Saquon Barkley, who did not have his best game: he rushed for 32 yards on 15 carries.
New York is now 4-11 while the Bears sit at 5-10. Neither squad can make the playoffs, so they're playing for draft order now.
Chicago is the favorite in this one, with an expected 6-point margin of victory. True fans might be the only ones betting on them, currently 4-10 ATS, to cover the spread.
Two offensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: The Bears are second worst in the NFL in passing yards per game, with only 209.1 on average. New York has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the fewest overall offensive touchdowns in the league, having accrued only 22 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
