Almost a year to the day after linebacker James Harrison tweeted his goodbyes to Steelers Nation, he did the same to Bengals fans Thursday.

The Bengals confirmed the news.
Harrison, the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and the Steelers parted ways last spring after the linebacker refused to a pay cut. He wound up signing for less with the Bengals where he started 10 games in 2013 and registered 30 tackles with two sacks and an interception.
Compared to other Bengals linebackers, Harrison played well, according to ProFootballFocus.com. His grade of 8.4 was just behind Vontaze Burfict (10.6) and ahead of Vincent Rey (6.3), Rey Maualuga (-10.2), Michael Boley (-0.5) and Jayson DiManche (-0.1).
But at 35, Harrison wasn't nearly the player he was in Pittsburgh, and the Bengals decided to get younger (and cheaper) at the position.
