Cincinnati made it three wins in a row with their 27-10 victory in Jacksonville on Sunday. The Bengals took care of business against a team they outmatched both on paper and the field. Most importantly, the defensive disaster of the first two weeks has begun to simmer with steady improvement in wins against the Redskins and Jaguars.
Offense: B
The grading curve became more difficult as the Bengals rose the bar the first few weeks. They were one BenJarvus Green-Ellis fumble at the goal line away from registering three consecutive weeks of 30-plus points for the third time in franchise history. Andy Dalton to A.J. Green continues to become of the fastest rising combos in the NFL. Green still stands second in the NFL in receiving yards with 428 through four games. More than Dalton to Green, Dalton connected with eight different receivers and has thrown touchdowns to six different receivers this season. This would have graded out as another A if not for the shocking reoccurance of fumbling for Green-Ellis. After going 589 touches without coughing it up, he's put the ball on the ground three times in two games, losing two of those.

Defense: B
No, the defense didn't completely pull out of the abyss of the first two weeks, but gradually is taking steps back into what the Bengals imagined prior to the start of the season. For the second straight week, they notched six sacks and rank first in the NFL in sacks per pass play. The defensive line rotation fronted by Geno Atkins, Carlos Dunlap and Michael Johnson have become the identity of this group. Plus, for the first time this season, the Bengals found a way to stop the run. They entered Sunday 31st against the rush, but held Maurice Jones-Drew to 38 yards on 13 carries.

Special Teams: A
Kevin Huber boomed three punts for an average of 47.7 net yards and pinned Jacksonville twice inside its 20. Mike Nugent remains a perfect 7 of 7 on field goals this year. Toss in the genius fake punt call that netted a 48-yard run by Cedric Peerman, and it completes another great day for the Bengals special teams group.

Coaching: A
Jay Gruden's offensive gameplan again looked creative and effective, spreading the ball around to all fields. Mike Zimmer found an identity on defense. Marvin Lewis and special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons dialing up the fake punt shook the doldrums out of a team slogging through the first 20 minutes. Reeling off three in a row after the opening week debacle deserves a hat tip, regardless of the caliber of opponents.
