The Minnesota Vikings and the Cincinnati Bengals are opening their 2021 seasons against one another at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium. Last year was nothing to brag about for Minnesota (7-9), so the team is looking forward to a new start. Cincinnati struggled last year, too, ending up 4-11-1.
A couple last-season offensive stats to keep an eye on: The Vikings were fourth best in yards per game, finishing the 2020 season with 393.3 on average. Less enviably, the Bengals were third worst when it came to overall offensive touchdowns last season, with the squad coming up with only 32 overall. The good news for Cincinnati, of course, is that these forces working against them might not carry over into the new season.
The neutral point spread forecasts a close one for these two. We'll see if the game is as close as the oddsmakers expect or if one of these teams has a surprise blowout in them.
