Guard Chad Rinehart did not practice Friday -- so he could be ready for a tough test against the 49ers on Sunday.
The Bills are counting on Rinehart, the team’s top swing guard, to fill in for injured RG Kraig Urbik (ankle) in Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Rinehart missed the practice after suffering a calf injury in Thursday’s workout. He’s officially listed as questionable but is expected to play according to coach Chan Gailey.
“We rested him today just to kind of make sure we got him on Sunday,” Gailey said. “We think he'll be fine.”
FS Jairus Byrd (hip) is another player who will be listed as questionable but is expected to play against the 49ers. Byrd has been a limited participant in practice for much of the week and looked “OK” on Friday, according to Gailey.
Urbik (ankle), DT Spencer Johnson (ankle) and LT Cordy Glenn (ankle) are all out.
