With a rash of injuries on the offensive line, the Bills added some insurance Tuesday night by signing veteran Reggie Wells.
Wells is a 10-year veteran who spent the first seven years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals -- Buffalo’s Week 6 opponent. Wells (6-foot-4, 318) entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Cardinals in 2003. He most recently played in five games for the Carolina Panthers in 2011.
The Bills placed G Colin Brown on injured reserve to make room for Wells. Brown suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s 45-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
This actually isn’t the first time the Bills have shown an interest in Wells. They signed him to an offer sheet in 2006 when he was a restricted free agent, but the Cardinals matched.
