Denver used their second second-round selection on the lanky Osweiler, who left Arizona State early. It was somewhat of a surprise given that the Broncos had essentially spent their entire offseason chasing Peyton Manning, only to land him ... and then use a high pick on a project quarterback to back him up.
Hillman, on the other hand, is a perfect fit for what the Broncos want to do now, which explains why they used the 67th overall pick on the San Diego State running back. He's a compact runner who should compliment Willis McGahee and push for a large number of snaps due to his ability to fit into the sort of offense that Manning runs.
He's not the strongest runner at 5'9", 200 pounds, but he's got great moves in space, is a breakaway threat and could be exceptionally dangerous on draws out of the shotgun. If Knowshon Moreno can look alright in his return from injury, the Broncos could have a interesting running backs corps.
