Broncos vs. Chargers Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Broncos vs. Chargers football game
Game Recap
The Los Angeles Chargers lost a heartbreaker to the Denver Broncos when they met last December, and they left with a heavy heart again on Sunday. It could have gone either way late during winning time for Los Angeles or Denver, but it was the Broncos snatching the 31-30 victory. Los Angeles was up 24-10 at the end of the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
Denver can attribute much of their success to RB Phillip Lindsay, who punched in one rushing touchdown. That touchdown -- a 55-yard rush in the third quarter -- was one of the highlights of the matchup. QB Drew Lock had a good game, too, finishing with three touchdowns.
RB Justin Jackson hadn't helped Los Angeles' cause all that much against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but the same can't be said for this game. Despite their loss, the Chargers got to see several of their players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jackson, who picked up 89 yards on the ground on 17 carries and caught three passes for 53 yards, was the best among equals.
Los Angeles' overall record fell to 2-5. The Broncos' win brought them up to 3-4.
Los Angeles will look to defend their home turf next Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:05 p.m. ET. Las Vegas is 1-2 after wins this year, and Los Angeles is 1-3 after losses. As for Denver, they will face off against the Atlanta Falcons at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Like Denver, Atlanta is also coming into the contest bolstered by a recent win.
