Brandon Flowers gave the Chiefs a scare when he injured his foot in Tuesday night's practice and headed to the locker room. News from training camp is that Flowers has a bruised foot and should not be out long.
The Chiefs were off Wednesday and Flowers sat out the morning workout on Thursday. Coach Romeo Crennel said Flowers would sit out Thursday afternoon's practice and "get back out there pretty soon, hopefully."
Travis Daniels has replaced Flowers at cornerback, which was a surprise considering Daniels spent most of offseason workouts and the first few days of training camp at safety. Daniels has played corner most of his career and had 14 tackles and two interceptions last season.
"He knows every position," Crennel said. "He's a pro. He understands every rep is important. He's in tune to the game, he's in tune to practice and every time he gets a chance to go out there -- he goes out there."
Flowers has missed four games in his four-year career and started all 16 for the Chiefs last season.
