The good news for the Chiefs is RB Jamaal Charles, who left Sunday's game early after bruising his left knee, practiced Tuesday.
As for the bad news, we'll let Romeo Crennel take it from here:
"On the injury front, Kevin Boss, he’s not going to be able to do anything. It's still probably going to be a couple days before he can get back out on the field.
"Jake O'Connell has a bruised knee and he will not be practicing today. Ryan Lilja has a back [problem] and he will not practice today. [Devon] Wylie is still nursing that hamstring, he'll see what he can do and go from there.
"Kendrick Lewis will be limited. He’s been going through some individuals, and he'll continue to do that. Steve Breaston jammed his wrist, and so he'll be limited today. [Anthony] Toribio is still nursing his ankle. [Allen] Bailey is still nursing his ankle, but he’s been doing a little something, so he should be doing a little bit more.
"Jalil Brown is still nursing his injury and he should be doing a little bit more though because he was able to do a little bit in the game."
Crennel was interrupted to ask if Brown's injury was his groin. Go on, Romeo...
"Yeah, he had a groin. Dexter McCluster got hit on the shoulder, and he's got a sore shoulder so we're not going to give him any contact.
"So as a result of the injuries, I'm not going to be in pads [Tuesday], I'm going to hold it off until [Wednesday] to go in pads to give these guys a chance to recover a little bit and get back."
For those counting at home, that's 10 Chiefs who did not practice or were limited Tuesday. Five are starters (RG Lilja, S Lewis, NT Toribio, WR Breaston and slot WR McCluster). Lewis (shoulder), Toribio and Bailey have yet to play in the regular season.
When CB Brandon Flowers was limited at practice before the opener against Atlanta, Crennel did not play him because he was not a full participant. It will be interesting to see if he changes his stance this week with the number of injured Chiefs.
