The complete overhaul of the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff is sure to leave some players in the dust. Offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has devised a ground-and-pound scheme -- one he utilized in Pittsburgh -- while the defense is transitioning to a 3-4 set. With general manager Ryan Grigson not afraid to pull the trigger on trades, it seems that almost no one is safe in Indy.

But what players are sitting on the bubble?

Delone Carter (RB, 2nd year, fourth round pick in the 2011 draft) -- Heading into last season, Indianapolis Colts running back Delone Carter was set to split time with starting running back Joseph Addai and his backup Donald Brown. Carter had a less than stellar season, and now, with rookie Vick Ballard and veterans Mewelde Moore and Brown, Carter may end up being the odd man out. His style aligns with Arians', but if he doesn't start producing on the field he may be sent packing. He is expected to again be inactive Saturday against the Redskins. In all, though, chances are slim that Carter doesn't make the roster; but don't be surprised if he gets the boot.

Jermale Hines (S, 2nd year, fifth round pick in 2011) -- Hines was originally drafted by the Rams, but he spent five games in Indianapolis last season before being cut. Hines was re-signed from the Panthers practice squad late last season and seemed to be in line to backup Antoine Bethea at free safety. A solid outing last week by Latarrius Thomas and a defensive backfield in flux may have been the recipe for Hines' demise.

Tim Fugger (LB, rookie, transitioning from defensive end to outside linebacker) -- The first-year player from Vanderbilt seemed to have a great shot of making the team prior to camp's beginning, but injuries have hindered his progress. He was recently activated off the PUP list and is expected to play Saturday against the Redskins. Fugger is stuck behind Jerry Hughes and Robert Mathis on the depth chart, which is not a great place to be. Hughes has been very good in two preseason games, and Mathis will be the starter. Fugger may be able to get a roster spot if he can prove his mettle on special teams.
