Despite what Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano has said throughout the week, it still appears that wide receiver Austin Collie's status for Sunday against Minnesota is up in the air. This evidenced by the fact that Collie (concussions) missed Thursday's practice despite Pagano saying -- for the second consecutive week -- that Collie is a "full go". Obviously Collie's status will become clearer after Friday's practice, but it sure looks as if his playing Sunday is a longshot.

Linebacker Dwight Freeney's status seems less in doubt, as the veteran again missed practice with a sprained ankle. Some are speculating that Freeney could be out several weeks, but the team's official stance is that Freeney is day-to-day. Nevertheless, Freeney's lack of practice participation all week seems to indicate that he will not play Sunday. Defensive coordinator Bruce Manusky did litte to dispel this notion Thursday when he spoke to the media.

“Right now the situation is kind of 'discuss it with the trainers' and stuff," Manusky said. "If he happens to be ready, then it’ll be a game-time decision and if he’s ready to work, we’ll put him in there of course.”

Happens to be ready? Doesn't sound good.

AP coming to town: The Colts were solid against the run in the opener at Chicago, but the coaching staff was displeased with the fact that Bears running back Matt Forte was able to break off two runs of 20 yards or more. The Vikings, of course, have Adrian Peterson, and he could be running against a depleted Indianapolis defense. Staring linebacker Pat Angerer is certainly out, and the aforementioned Freeney is very questionable.
