All eyes will be on Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck Sunday in Chicago in his NFL debut, and his job just got a little easier. Head coach Chuck Pagano said Monday that wide receiver Austin Collie would play after missing the last two preseason games with a concussion.
“Full go. Yep,” Pagano said. And Pagano, on how Collie looked in practice: “Fresh legs. Ran all over the place. Caught everything. Looked great.”
That the Colts will be at full strength at receiver was nowhere near certain a couple weeks ago, but at this point it appears that both Collie and veteran receiver Donnie Avery will be able to play. Avery had missed the first two preseason games with a thigh injury. He and Collie will join rookies LaVon Brazill and T.Y. Hilton, as well as Colts mainstay Reggie Wayne on the receiving corps.
Pagano also updated the status of cornerback Jerraud Powers (knee), cornerback Justin King (hip), offensive guard Mike McGlynn (ankle) and defensive end Cory Redding (knee), saying they would all be fine and available Sunday.
The Colts will face the Bears Sunday at 1 p.m. ET at Soldier Field.
