The 49ers and Rams game on Sunday ended after an overtime period with the two teams knotted at 24, the first tie in the NFL since 2008.
But when the game ended, not everyone on the field actually knew there were ties in the NFL, including Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola and 49ers safety Dashon Goldson.
Amendola told Sports Illustrated's Peter King following the game he expected things to continue.
Amendola just told me he thought there was going to be a second overtime. Didn't know it was over till he heard from an official.

Goldson was also clueless about how things would go down, doing his best Donovan McNabb imitation to the media following the 49ers
"I didn't know the rules! I didn't know you could tie in football," Goldson said. "It's a competitive sport, man -- you've got winners and losers. You've gotta choose one. I never heard of tying in football -- I really didn't."
The Niners defender said he figured things out when he saw the Rams and his 49ers teammates exiting the field.
"When I saw both teams walking onto the field. Yeah, really. I said, 'Where's everybody going? Did somebody quit? Is this a forfeit?'"
It's borderline unfathomable that these guys don't know the overtime rules, considering they, you know, play football and everything. But it's also a little understandable considering just how rare a football tie is with the current (and new) overtime rules.
And on the bright side, now McNabb is off the hook.
