Did the Seahawks steal a win? Not if you ask anyone in Seattle

The Seahawks stuck to their talking points on Tuesday; they won the game fair and square.

Monday night's final play was the NFL's version of the Rorschach inkblot test. Packers fans, Packers players, President Obama and most of America saw an interception by Green Bay's M.D. Jennings that was somehow ruled a Golden Tate touchdown for the Seahawks.

On the other hand, "Sweet throw, sweet catch, sweet touchdown," is how most people in the Pacific Northwest are going to remember Russell Wilson's Hail Mary.

Was it an interception? Did Seattle steal a win? Not if you ask Pete Carroll, Leon Washington or Marshawn Lynch. Here's reaction from the Seattle side following Monday night's controversy.

Carroll made it clear in a radio interview Tuesday morning that he doesn't feel guilty about anything, "Whether they missed [Golden Tate's] push or not, obviously they missed the push in there, in the battle for the ball. But that stuff goes on all the time. They see it, they don't see it. That happens with the official officials. And so the result is they called it, the league backed it up, game over, we win."
Running back Marshawn Lynch, who carried the ball 25 times for 98 yards in the game, was also unapologetic about the win. "It's not like we did anything wrong," Lynch told Yahoo.com. "We have nothing to apologize for."
The Hail Mary will be the controversial call that gets remembered, but the Everett Herald pointed out that the controversial calls began way before the game's final play. In the fourth quarter alone, there was a questionable pass interference penalty called on Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor and a suspect roughing the passer penalty called on Green Bay that negated a Packer interception.
It was definitely a controversial win for the Seahawks, according to Seattle Times columnist Jerry Brewer, who also said it was a signature win for Seattle. Brewer called the team's wild Monday night win the "signature regular-season victory of the Pete Carroll era."
Controversy? What controversy? WR Doug Baldwin didn't even mention the Hail Mary in a tweet early Tuesday, saying only, "Well, our defense played a hell of a game."
Seahawks RB Leon Washington tweeted that Green Bay had other problems in the game besides the officiating. "Packers complaining about Refs. What about Them 8 sacks u gave Up."
As for the game-winning touchdown ball, is Golden Tate going to lock it up in a safety deposit box where no Packers fan will ever be able to get it? Nope. Tate's giving the ball to his mom. "Today is her birthday," Tate said following the game.
