Dolphins vs. Bengals updates: Live NFL game scores, results for Sunday
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Dolphins vs. Bengals football game
Game Recap
When you finish with 210 more yards than your opponent like the Miami Dolphins did Sunday, a favorable outcome is almost sure to follow. They came out on top against the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 19-7. Since the Dolphins won the last time these teams met, too, this is only more fuel for the fire driving Cincinnati's future revenge.
No one had a standout game offensively for Miami, but they got one touchdown from TE Mike Gesicki. QB Tua Tagovailoa ended up with a passer rating of 138.90. K Jason Sanders added his talents, too, launching four field goals between the uprights.
Miami's defense was a presence, holding Cincinnati to a paltry 196 yards. The defense embarrassed Cincinnati's offensive line to sack the quarterback six times for a total loss of 37 yards. Leading the way was MLB Kyle Van Noy and his three sacks. Van Noy now has 4.5 sacks through 12 games.
Nobody on the Bengals really separated themselves from the pack offensively, but WR Tyler Boyd led the way with one touchdown. QB Brandon Allen ended up with a passer rating of 132.40.
The Dolphins' win brought them up to 8-4. Cincinnati's defeat pushed them down to 2-9-1.
Miami has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Kansas City Chiefs at 1 p.m. ET Dec. 13 at Hard Rock Stadium. Both of those teams have allowed few points on average (Miami 17.67, Kansas City 19.83), so any points scored will be well earned. As for Cincinnati, they will face off against the Dallas Cowboys at 1 p.m. ET next week at Paul Brown Stadium. Neither the Bengals nor Dallas could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one.
