PHILADELPHIA -- Nick Sirianni admitted Jalen Hurts didn't have to worry as much about pass protection up front with Jason Kelce at center. Sirianni said Hurts' comments were correct in his first media session prior to the Philadelphia Eagles playing the Green Bay Packers in Brazil this week.

"There's things that happen at the line of scrimmage, there are some teams where it's all the quarterback, there are some teams it's all the center, there are some teams where that's a mix," Sirianni said. "It was Jalen being able to do some other things at the line of scrimmage and Kelce handled a big portion of it.

"Yea, what he said his 100% true."

Hurts opened up on his quarterback-center dynamic with WIP earlier this week on Kelce's responsibilities and how his willingness to learn about those aspects were pushed to the side. Kelce handled that aspect of the game, but things have changed with Cam Jurgens at center.

"We had a great player in Jason Kelce who took on a lot of responsibility and as a result of that I was told not to worry about a lot of things," Hurts said on 94WIP. And so my eagerness to learn over the years kind of was halted...but now times are different."

Hurts has always been engaged in learning more about the intricacies of the position. He as more autonomy this year than in years past.

"Ever since I've been here, Jalen's been all in," Sirianni said. "Every year he's done everything he can do to help this football team win. He's put every bit of his heart and soul into it.

"To say it's more -- I see the same Jalen who's working his butt off to try and win this first game. He's working his butt off to make sure this team is in good position. He's making sure he's playing his best ball because we need him to play his best ball for us to have a chance to win week in and week out.

"The guy is a winner. he's been a winner his entire life and he goes about that process every day to win -- better than everybody I've ever been around."
