The Eagles announced Monday they have signed free agent offensive lineman Jared Wheeler , who worked out for the team before signing the deal.
The Eagles are thin along the offensive line after releasing former Pro Bowler Evan Mathis, and Wheeler has experience at both center and guard.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Wheeler was a standout at the University of Miami but has not latched on in the NFL, with brief stints with the Bills, Panthers and Seahawks.
