After two games on the road, the Atlanta Falcons are heading back home. They will take on the Washington Football Team at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Atlanta should still be riding high after a win, while Washington will be looking to right the ship.

The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 17-14 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday. Meanwhile, Washington found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 43-21 punch to the gut against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Like the Falcons, Washington didn't have any clear offensive standouts, but they got scores from TE Logan Thomas and RB Antonio Gibson. QB Taylor Heinicke ended up with a passer rating of 143.40.

Atlanta's victory brought them up to 1-2 while Washington's loss pulled them down to an identical 1-2. Two defensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Atlanta is stumbling into the matchup with the second most touchdowns allowed in the league, having given up ten on the season. Washington has experienced some struggles of their own as they are second worst in the NFL in yards allowed per game, with 432 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
