Sunday NFL betting preview

The New England Patriots (11-2) can clinch the AFC East with their second victory over the Buffalo Bills (9-4) this season, as the Patriots are in the midst of the biggest turnarounds in recent NFL history in Year One of the Mike Vrabel era. The Patriots went 4-13 last year for their second straight season, and now could be on their way toward the No. 1 seed in the AFC. But Josh Allen has had some Superman performances over recent weeks, one being his four-touchdown performance in a 39-34 win against the Bengals last week. A win Sunday puts Buffalo back in the race for the AFC East, top seed in the conference, and maybe even Allen for a second straight MVP Award. The Bills are 1-point favorites in the latest Week 15 NFL odds at Fanatics Sportsbook for a 1 p.m. ET start.

The 4 p.m. ET slot features a five-game slate, including another of the NFL's biggest surprises of the season. The Panthers had the ideal bye week last week, emerging from the break tied for first in the NFC South following Tampa Bay's 24-20 loss to the Saints. Carolina (7-6) is a 3-point favorite on the road against New Orleans, as the Panthers hope the additional rest and now the confidence of being a first-place team make a difference for Sunday. The Panthers defeated the Rams, 31-28, before their bye.

The potential game of the week takes place in the 4 p.m. window when the Los Angeles Rams host the Detroit Lions at 4:25 p.m. ET. The Rams are tied with the Seahawks at 10-3 for the best record in the NFC West and the entire conference, while the Lions are outside of the playoffs despite an 8-5 record. Both teams are coming off victories last week, and Sunday marks another meeting between Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff, who were involved in one of the biggest trades in NFL history. The Rams are favored by 5.5 points at Fanatics. Click here to sign up for Fanatics Sportsbook to bet and get up to $2,000 in No Sweat Bets in FanCash at Fanatics.
