Sunday NFL betting preview

The New England Patriots host the Houston Texans on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, with both teams coming off dominant defensive performances over Wild Card Weekend. The Texans had two defensive touchdowns in a 30-6 win over the Steelers on Monday, putting consistent pressure on Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Patriots held the Chargers to just three points in a 16-3 win, and New England sacked Justin Herbert six times. The Texans have the No. 1 scoring defense at 16.7 points per game allowed, with the Patriots third at 17.9 ppg allowed. Whoever best replicates their defensive performance from last week likely wins this matchup.

Meanwhile, the Sunday NFC matchup is far more likely to be determined by offensive dominance. The Chicago Bears host the Los Angeles Rams at 6:30 p.m. ET, with the Bears coming off a wild 31-27 win over the Packers, and the Rams defeating the Panthers, 34-31, last week. The Rams have the No. 1 scoring offense at 30.7 ppg, spearheaded by the favorite to win the NFL MVP award in Matthew Stafford, and the Bears rank ninth in scoring at 26.2 ppg in the first year under head coach Ben Johnson, who was the offensive coordinator with the Lions before this season. The Bears scored 25 points in the fourth quarter in their comeback win over the Packers last week.

For NFL betting, the Patriots are 3-point favorites in the latest Sunday NFL odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, while the over/under is set at 41.5 points. On the NFC side for the Divisional Round, the Rams are 3.5-point favorites with an over/under at 50.5 points. Sign up for FanDuel Sportsbook here:
