The Giants announced that they have extended coach Tom Coughlin's contract through the 2016 season.
Coughlin is entering his 12th season at the helm of the Giants. He won Super Bowls XLII and XLVI over the Patriots and is in the midst of the second-longest tenure in Giants franchise history. Only Steve Owen has coached the franchise longer (1930-1953).
Since joining the Giants in 2004, Coughlin is 96-80. He holds a 164-140 record in his career, which includes the eight seasons he was with the Jaguars.
