Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas (knee) and defensive tackle Shaun Rogers (blood clot) made the biggest news of cut day by being moved to the season-ending injured reserve list, but those weren’t the only noteworthy transactions by the Giants on Friday.
Some may be surprised to see D.J. Ware being cut, but the Giants have a youth movement underway in the backfield and his skill set was becoming redundant. Da’Rel Scott and Andre Brown each improved on special teams, and Scott became a better blocker in the backfield. And given Scott’s ability to serve as a kick returner, off returner and catch passes out of the backfield, Ware was no longer unique for the Giants. Ahmad Bradshaw and first-round pick David Wilson promise the share the majority of the load at running back.
