The NYG have had a tough time stopping the Bucs. (US Presswire) |
Even with Eli Manning throwing two interceptions in the first half and the Buccaneers taking an 11-point advantage midway through the second quarter, the Giants were driving late in the first half and were looking to take a halftime lead against suddenly resurgent Tampa Bay.
But then Manning threw his third pick of the game, and, Buccaneers cornerback Eric Wright somehow returned it for a 60-yard touchdown with eight seconds to play in the half to give Tampa Bay a 24-13 lead heading into intermission.
The Buccaneers scored 21 points off Giants turnovers. Even worse for New York, the status of running back Ahmad Bradshaw is up in the air after he left the game for a neck X-ray.
With the Giants coming off a big loss to the Cowboys in Week 1, the defending Super Bowl champions are in definite danger of falling to 0-2 in 2012 -- especially if Manning continues to play like this.
