Giants running back Andre Brown continues to garner league-wide attention for his first professional start. The fourth-year pro was nominated for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award for his 20-carry, 113-yard, two-touchdown performance in Thursday’s 36-7 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Prior to Brown’s performance -- which came in his home state of North Carolina -- the Giants hadn’t had a 100-yard rushing performance from any back since Brandon Jacobs gained 101 yards against the Cowboys in Week 14 of last season. That means the Giants have had just two running backs hit the century mark in their last 17 games, including the playoffs.

“I think it’s just something that’s improving but we got to stick to it each and every week,” center David Baas told CBSSports.com. “It opens up a lot of different things. It’s always good to get over the 100 mark. We just got to keep it over that each and every week. There’s still a lot of opportunity out there.”

Baas might be right in more ways than one. Ahmad Bradshaw, who Brown replaced on Thursday, has been cleared to return to practice. Bradshaw suffered a neck injury during the first half of the Week 2 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and missed Monday’s practice.

“You can guarantee I'll be out there fighting with my team,” Bradshaw said Tuesday on ESPN Radio.

Brown has gained 184 yards on 33 carries since Bradshaw went down, but coach Tom Coughlin has previously said that he envisions the two receiving carries along with rookie David Wilson going forward.

Yes, LeSean McCoy is still talking about Osi Umenyiora: With the Eagles and Giants set to meet on Sunday night in Philadelphia, running back LeSean McCoy reignited his feud with Osi Umenyiora during an interview which will air on ESPN’s “E:60” on Tuesday night.

“Osi, to be honest, he is a good player," McCoy said. "I think he thinks that he is better than what he really is. I think he is a ballerina in a Giants uniform. Other than that, that is all I got to say about Osi."

Umenyiora previously wished McCoy a “Happy Mothers Day” on Twitter. McCoy told E:60 that coach Andy Reid asked him not to respond to that comment.

E:60 spoke with Umenyiora about McCoy’s most recent comments, but he didn’t seemed to be too bothered.

"He is probably right," Umenyiora said. "I might be a ballerina in a Giants uniform. I am lucky that I got the contract, I'm lucky to be playing 10 years in the league, won Super Bowls, all that is pure luck.”

Day Off: The Giants are off on Tuesday, but will return to practice on Wednesday. Wide receiver Domenik Hixon (concussion) and Bradshaw (neck) are both expected to practice.

Cornerback Corey Webster will continue to work with an oversized cast on his broken right hand -- he’ll wear a smaller one on Sunday -- and it’s not yet known of safety Antrel Rolle (knee laceration) will be active or not.

On Monday coach Tom Coughlin said he hoped to get right tackle David Diehl (knee) back this week. If that can’t happen, expect Sean Locklear to continue playing at right tackle this Sunday with Will Beatty working on the blindside.
