Earlier this week, Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks fractured his foot while participating in a drill during practice, and it was estimated the injury would keep him out about 12 weeks.
That puts his return in the middle of training camp, and after undergoing successful surgery Friday (via the NY Post), that official prognosis has not changed (although there are rumblings his return time actually could be cut in half).
Nicks underwent the surgery in Charlotte, and doctors inserted a screw into his foot to help heal the fifth metatarsal bone that he broke Thursday.
