S Brandon Harden of Oregon State was taken 79th overall by the Bears. He's a 6-2 1/2, 222-pounder who could help bolster a safety corps that always needs depth. The Bears have had both starting safeties play an entire season only once since 2001. Chris Conte and Major Wright are the current starters, and it wouldn't be surprising if Harden could battle both for a starting spot.
