Seahawks linebacker Heath Farwell will likely need surgery on a groin strain suffered in Friday's preseason action, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
"Heath is going back east to get evaluated — he probably has to have surgery on his groin," head coach Pete Carroll said Monday. "So that’s a very difficult situation for him. He had extensive damage, so everything points to surgery."
Farwell has been a key special-teams player over the last three seasons.
