It looks like we're going to find out on Sunday if Dak Prescott can win without his top receiver in the lineup.
Before the Cowboys took the field for practice on Friday, Dez Bryantsaid he that wouldn't be playing against the 49ers. Of course, since this is Bryant we're talking about, nothing is ever that simple.
The Cowboys haven't actually ruled him out for the game, which means there's still a small possibility he could play. Bryant was listed as questionable on the Cowboys' final injury report that was released on Friday.
Bryant's injury status caps an interesting week for the Cowboys wide receiver, who skipped his MRI on Monday because he thought it was going to give him bad news.
Anyway, if Bryant doesn't play -- and he likely won't -- that means Prescott will be heading into San Francisco with Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams as his top targets at wide receiver. As a matter of fact, you might want to take a 30-second break from reading this and see if either of those guys are available in your Fantasy league. Hurry up and check. I'll wait.
On the other hand, maybe you shouldn't grab a Cowboys receiver because there's a chance that Prescott might not have much time to throw on Sunday. Tyron Smith, the Cowboys' starting left tackle, has been dealing with tightness in his back this week and has been listed as questionable for the game.
On the 49ers' end, coach Chip Kelly is going to see a familiar opponent on Sunday. During his three years in Philadelphia, Kelly coached against the Cowboys a total of six times and went 3-3.
Kelly was asked on Thursday if his prior experience against the Cowboys is something that might help him put together a gameplan this week.
"It's different because you're always putting in a gameplan based on what you believe your personnel can do whether it's defending Dallas or attacking Dallas," Kelly said. "You can say, 'Hey, we did this here, but we were built a little bit differently where we were before than where we are here.' So, you have a little bit of knowledge."
The Cowboys' trip to the Bay Area will mark only the third time since 1998 that they've played the 49ers on the road. In both 2005 and 2011, the Cowboys left San Francisco with a three-point win.

Prisco's Pick
The 49ers are 1-2 and have looked awful at times on offense. The Cowboys have played well on offense with Dak Prescott, but now there are three games of tape on him. That can matter. Look for the 49ers to keep it close.
Pick: Cowboys 21, 49ers 20
