Jaguars vs. Dolphins score: Jacksonville snaps 20-game losing streak in dramatic fashion in London

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Miami Dolphins didn't enter Sunday's early game with many wins, but fans in London were treated to a highly-competitive game. The crowd inside Tottenham Hotspur Stadium saw the second-longest losing streak in NFL history come to an end, as Matthew Wright's 53-yard field goal on the game's final play lifted the Jaguars to a 23-20 win.

The Jaguars won their first game under head coach Urban Meyer. Jacksonville entered Sunday's game with a 20-game losing streak, six games from tying the 1976-77 Buccaneers' record of 26 straight losses. Down 13-3 in the first half, the Jaguars took their first lead on James Robinson's one-yard touchdown run less than three minutes into the second half. Down 20-17 in the fourth quarter, Wright tied the score with 3:45 left with a 54-yard field goal that curved from right to left and between the uprights, before drilling the game-winning kick as time expired. The Jaguars entered the game without a single made field goal during the season's first five games, the only team in the Super Bowl era to do so.

Jacksonville's comeback was fueled by quarterback Trevor Lawrence and a defense that came up with several critical stops in the second half. Lawrence, who threw for 319 yards on 24 of 41 passing, cut the Jaguars' halftime deficit to 13-10 after hitting Marvin Jones Jr. on a 28-yard touchdown pass. His completions of 12 and nine yards to Laviska Shenault Jr. on the game's final drive set up Wright's game-winning kick. Jones finished with 100 yards on seven receptions, while Robinson tallied 101 all-purpose yards.

After relinquishing the lead, the Dolphins quickly moved back in front when Tua Tagovailoa hit Jaylen Waddle for a two-yard touchdown with 10:25 left in the game. But the Dolphins' offense had little success on their last two drives. They went three-and-out on their next possession, and after the Jaguars tied the game on Wright's 54-yard field goal, Miami running back Malcolm Brown was stuffed on fourth-and-one by Josh Allen and Chapelle Russell. The Jaguars won the game six plays later.

While it came in a losing effort, the Dolphins received a solid game from Tagovailoa in his first game back from injury. Tagovailoa threw for 329 yards with two touchdowns and one interception on 33 of 47 passing. His favorite target was Mike Gesicki, who caught eight of nine targets for 115 yards. Waddle caught a game-high 10 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns. His capped off the game's opening drive with a six-yard touchdown reception.

The Jaguars won despite going just 3 of 12 on third down. Two key red zone stops in the first half -- which led to short field goals by Jason Sanders -- were key moments in the Jaguars' first win of the 2021 season. The Dolphins now own the league's longest losing streak, falling to 1-5 after winning their season-opener against the Patriots.

Fans in London are seeing a great game. Jaguars making some costly mistakes here though. Penalty on first down and a one-yard loss on a designed run by Lawrence on first down.

Jaguars pick the right time to convert on third down. Completion to Jones on third-and-nine gives the Jaguars a first down at the Dolphins' 41.

Call on the field stands. Really bad challenge by Flores. Someone on his staff should have stepped in and told him that there was not enough evidence via video to overturn it.

Flores is challenging and the Dolphins will likely lose another timeout. So in the event that the Jaguars take the lead here, Miami will have just one timeout left.

Dolphins protesting that the Jaguars return man touched the ball, which would give the Dolphins a TD. Doesn't look like it actually touched it even though it was close.

Third down continues to be an issue for Jacksonville, as they are 2-9 on third down so far. Penalties and a lack of production on first down have been the main two reasons why the Jaguars have struggled on third down. Have had very few third-and-short situations.

Tua has been red hot on this drive. He caps it off by hitting Waddle for a two-yard touchdown. Per usual, he's having a lot of success getting the ball to Gesicki, who has 110 yards on seven receptions. Tua is five yards away from the third 300-yard game of his career.

Jerome Baker stuffs James Robinson for no gain, as both defenses are coming up with big plays during the third quarter. Dolphins have to find a way to establish their running game, as they have just 64 yards on 14 carries.
