Jaguars vs. Panthers: Live updates, score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jaguars vs. Panthers football game
3rd Quarter Report
Fortunes may be turning around for the Jaguars after losing four in a row. They are fully in control with a 19-0 lead over the Panthers. The Jaguars' offense has been firing on all cylinders thus far, outscoring their total from last Sunday with time still left to play.
If the Jaguars keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 9-7 in no time. On the other hand, the Panthers will have to make due with a 2-14 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Jacksonville Jaguars will look to defend their home field on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers at 1:00 p.m. ET at EverBank Stadium. The Jaguars are limping into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
The point spread may have favored Jacksonville last Sunday, but the final result did not. They took a 30-12 bruising from the Buccaneers. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jacksonville in their matchups with Tampa Bay: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their loss, the Jaguars saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Calvin Ridley, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, was perhaps the best of all.
The Jaguars weren't very productive on the ground and finished the game with only 37 rushing yards. That's the fewest rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but the Panthers had to settle for a 33-30 loss against the Packers on Sunday.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Bryce Young, who threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns. Those 312 passing yards set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was DJ Chark Jr., who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Jacksonville's record now sits at 8-7. As for Carolina, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Looking forward, the Jaguars are the favorite in this one, as the experts expect to see them win by seven points. This contest might not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they've let bettors down the last four times they've played.
