Jets vs. Commanders Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game
Live scores, highlights and updates from the Jets vs. Commanders football game
3rd Quarter Report
After a tough loss on the road their last time out, the Jets look much better today on their home field. They have a bit of a cushion as they currently lead the Commanders 27-14. The Jets took a big hit to their ego last Sunday, so a win here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.
If the Jets keep playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 6-9 in no time. On the other hand, the Commanders will have to make due with a 4-11 record unless they turn things around (and fast).
Preview
The Washington Commanders will head out on the road to face off against the New York Jets at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The Commanders are limping into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Last Sunday, the Commanders couldn't handle the Rams and fell 28-20. The over/under was set at 48.5 points, so nice work oddsmakers; you were right on the money.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Terry McLaurin, who picked up 141 receiving yards and a touchdown. Those 141 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for him. Jacoby Brissett was another key contributor, throwing for 124 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
Meanwhile, last Sunday just wasn't the day for New York's offense. They took a serious blow against the Dolphins, falling 30-0. That was the first shutout New York has experienced all year.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Jets had trouble moving the ball and finished the game with only 103 total yards. That's the fewest total yards they've managed all season.
Washington has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for New York, they bumped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
The Commanders are hoping to beat the odds on Sunday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This contest might not be the best time to bet them against the spread since they've let bettors down the last four times they've played.
