Steelers receiver Justin Brown has quietly been making a name for himself through the spring. This week he started taking first-team reps, working in the slot in place of Lance Moore, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported. While rookie Martavis Bryant got a little bit of work with the starters before getting pulled, Brown stayed in and spent a lot of time catching passes from Ben Roethlisberger.
Brown's height (6-foot-3) and experience in the slot at Penn State (before he went to Oklahoma and played on the outside) are giving him an advantage in the race to land prominent playing time this season.
